Tricia Bright

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Tricia Bright and I  am the founder of Little Techs.  I have had the privilege of working with students at both the primary and intermediate grade levels and genuinely love working with children.   In addition to teaching kindergarten, I have spent a lot of time volunteering at the preschool and elementary school levels.  While I love teaching kids of all ages, I found myself drawn to the “little people” and decided to focus my educational practices on younger students at the Pre-K/Kindergarten levels.

I have my Permanent Teaching Certification (K-6) through the Florida Department of Education and an Elementary Education Certification from St. Petersburg College.  In addition, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from USF.  I am married with three beautiful children!

My teaching experiences were full of learning new ways to challenge my students and broaden their learning experiences. One strategy that I found extremely helpful in the classroom was the use of technology. Even the most disengaged students could be drawn into a lesson with the use of technology.

Little Techs became my vision when I began working on the iPad with my youngest daughter, Jenna, who was three years old at the time.  I had no idea how much she was going to love “playing” the educational programs on the iPad.  The academic results were AMAZING!  Jenna went from knowing the fundamentals of alphabetic identification and sound association to actually forming words, completing sentences and learning to read!  I witnessed firsthand how quickly she was learning, and how much FUN she was having at the same time!

I want to share these successes with other children so that they too, can grow into capable, confident learners.  That is where Little Techs comes in. I have taken the latest educational strategies, along with today’s technological advances to develop Little Techs.  My hope is that all of my “little techs” will have fun, while growing socially and academically so that they can achieve the greatest accomplishments that life has to offer them.

Trisha Dorsett

Hi, I am the other Trisha!  My name is Trisha Dorsett and I am so happy to introduce myself to all of our “Little Tech” families!  I received my CDA in 2001 and have worked with children ever since.  In addition to teaching in the preschool and elementary environments, I have volunteered all of my summers working with “at risk” preschool children and have been actively involved with my church’s early childhood ministry.

With that being said, I’d like to tell you a little more about myself.  I have lived in North Pinellas County all my life and attended local schools.   My college background is in Elementary Education and Business Administration.  I have been married for 9 years and have two beautiful children ages 7 and 2 years old.

I realized how important having technology savvy kids are when my niece’s elementary school started using iPads in lieu of the traditional text books.   The world we grew up in has drastically changed and technology is definitely the direction we are heading!   I have seen first-hand how technology makes learning fun and Little Techs is just that!  I am very excited to learn and grow with your Little Techs, and I am looking forward to a great school year!
